The Department of Electronics and Automation is one of seven of the departments in the Vocational School of Technical Sciences which was founded by the Decision of the General Assembly of Higher Education at 19.03.2014 of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education. Our department is the continuation of Atatürk and Gazi Vocational School established in 2002 and Ostim Vocational School established in 2010 as well. Our department comprises of two programs which are Electronic Technology Program and Mechatronics Program. Within the scope of our programs, we are aiming to train a high-quality labor force by harmonizing hands on training (workplace training) with theoretical training so as to provide changeable scope requirements which belong to the developing industry. In accordance with requirements of the sector, targets on high employment rates are being realized with the updated training program. There are companies that we make protocols and they are external stakeholders belonging to the programs of our department and companies with whom we make protocols in various fields in accordance with the content of our programs. Our students prefer these companies as well, or they can complete their workplace training in the companies they want in accordance with the training of content. After graduation, they can find the opportunity to work in these companies permanently as well. The courses and contents that we provide in our programs are regularly pursued and updated according to the needs of the sector. Within this framework, the laboratories of our department are constantly being renewed. There are six laboratories in our department: Microprocessors laboratory, PLC laboratory, Robotics laboratory, Power Electronics and Energy Systems laboratory, Electrical Machines laboratory and Computer laboratory. What is more, our department has a Clean Energy Station for Solar Energy System Application. Additionally, in these laboratories, apart from the courses named in these laboratories, applications of different types of courses such as electrical-electronic measurement applications, electronic circuit design, digital electronics applications, AutoCad applications, Solid applications, Catia applications, hydraulic-pneumatic applications, CNC coding, robot control simulation applications, sensor training applications, Scada applications are also carried out. We also have a project laboratory for students to do their projects.
